The mirror of our days, time? As long as we live, we are all assured of twenty-four hours each day. The number of days, months, and years we are allotted? Ahh, now comes the unknown part. We can’t remember our birth, nor do we know our life span. In between when we are born and when we die, life happens. As we grow older, we may pause, look in the mirror, and reflect on our past. However, we must and cannot dwell there. The thing about mirrors is that they show things exactly as they are at the time. But as we look in the mirror, we can pause, take inventory and procrastinate. The mirror allows us to see things as they are and invites us to think of ways to improve. The Bible says, “Teach us to number our days.” In other words, make the most of each day. And as we pass fellow travelers on this road of life, may we remember those reflections in the mirror and love those we meet more.
